How Impact Recovery System works

4 LEVELS OF EXTREME PROTECTION

It's not only the footings you can protect, our Impact Recovery System protects your bollard using another 3 levels of protection to make the bollard impact resistant, safer and reusable

TO PROTECT EXPENSIVE FOOTINGS - The first level of protection are the ZERO WASTE Ground sockets that, unlike metal sockets, are unbreakable, OR ZERO WASTE Reusable base plate, that protect the surrounding foundations from damage impact after impact.

  1. TO PROTECT PEOPLE & ASSETS We use a heavy duty steel resistance core. Unlike spring loaded bollards that over-flex, a heavy-duty resistance core prevents deflection of the bollard beyond 20 degrees when impacted by a passenger vehicle at low speed such as a carpark. Upon severe impact the core will bend but the bollard will remain secure and the core is easily replaced. (see below)

  2. TO PROTECT THE BOLLARD AND VEHICLES  We use ZERO Impact Recovery Rings Unlike springs that quickly rust and wear out, creating dangerous litigation risks, our ZERO Impact Recovery Rings create a permanent shock absorbing cushion that absorb the impact force of a vehicle and self-recover, with no reduction in capacity following hundreds of impacts, greatly improving safety and resilience

  3. TO ENSURE YOUR BOLLARD WILL WITHSTAND IMPACT We use heavy duty bollard casings. Unlike cheaply made (often imported) bollards that dent upon impact from a vehicle, our heavy-duty bollards provide an impact resistant surface, but our Advanced Polymer bollards are the true heroes, further improving safety and reducing the risk of damage to vehicles

IN - GROUND BOLLARDS

Bollards remain rigid and cannot be deflected by hand. When impacted by a vehicle the Impact Recovery Rings absorb the impact force (allowing bollard to deflect up to 20 degrees when the resistance core will prevent any further defelction) and slowly safely self-recover impact after impact, year after year.

A more flexible version of rings (Super-flex) is available for bike paths that enables bollards to deflect upon low impact such as trolleys or push bikes (use with Advanced Polymer Bollards)

SIMPLE TO REPLACE
_____________________

If bollard is badly impacted the resistance core may need replacing

  1. Undo security stud and slip off bollard
  1. Use industrial removal tool (or foot tool for modified units) to remove the resistance core from ground socket.
  1. Replace Resistance core. Rings secured to core using screwdriver to tighten clamps. The Bollard casing, ZERO WASTE Foundations, Impact Recovery Rings and Self-locking Taper are all re-usable impact after impact

If bollard is severely impacted the resistance core may need replacing

  1. Undo securing stud and slip off bollard
  2. Use Allen key to remove the resistance core from base plate.
  3. Replace the resistance core. Impact Recovery Rings, Base Plate and surrounding foundations re-usable impact after impact
