Sockets can be installed by simply positioning upright when when pouring concrete footings
Or retrofitted by removing a few pavers or core drilling a 150 mm hole
Items of infrastructure can be installed by simply inserting item in ground socket, positioning upright and checking alignment before pouring concrete
Creating a perfect finish and as items are secured using fiction they are perfectly aligned
USING INSTALLATION TOOL
When installing heavy items; in windy conditions; or when infrastructure is not ready to install, you can use the installation tool (wont lock in) to position the ground socket upright when pouring concrete, and cap off until infrastructure is ready to install
* Cap must be installed so concrete does not enter during installation
Simple Installation Instructions
Socket is installed flush with surface and must be completely encased in concrete. Allow space for paving so socket finishes level with road or footpath.
EXISTING CONCRETE FOOTING
Socket is installed flush with surface and must be completely encased in concrete. Core drill hole large enough to fit socket and fill gap with concrete to secure socket to existing foundation. We recommend 150 or 350 mm ground sockets (650 mm is not necessary in solid concrete footpaths or foundations) NB: We also provide a Smart surface mount option for bollards.
When installing items directly in soil. Socket is installed flush with surface and must be completely encased in concrete. We recommend you install a 700 mm deep (minimum 50 mm beneath socket (suggest increasing depth 1m for bollards likely to be impacted by trucks or heavy vehicles at low speed) x 400 mm square foundation to provide stability and ensure against dislodgement when an item is impacted.
